Tool Steel

Tool steel, commonly known as green-label steel, is frequently found in the machinery hardware, DIY hand tools, and general low-load thread cutting (low-value) markets.

The main advantage of tool steel lies in balancing raw material price with general machining needs. However, for automated mass production, machining of difficult-to-machine materials, or machining environments requiring high tool life, further evaluation of HSS, HSS-Co, PM-HSS, or tungsten carbide is usually necessary.
